Location

Conference venue (5 & 6 December)
The conference  will take place at FLAD - Fundação Luso-Americana Para o Desenvolvimento. The venue is located close to the centre of Lisbon.

How to get to FLAD - Conference venue
By Car
To reach FLAD by car, take the A1 highway if coming from the north or the A2 if coming from the south. Once in central Lisbon, follow signs for Amoreiras or
Rato. There are parking spaces available in the vicinity, though availability may vary.

By Train
If you’re arriving by train, disembark at "Alcântara-Terra" station. From there, you can take a short taxi/uber ride to the FLAD Foundation. Alternatively, you can walk 1.5 km, about 20 minutes to the foundation.

By Metro
FLAD is easily accessible via the Lisbon Metro. Take the Yellow Line (Linha Amarela) and exit at "Rato" station. From there, you can take a short taxi/uber ride to the FLAD. Alternatively, you can walk 1.7 km, about 25 minutes to the foundation.

By Air
If you're arriving at Lisbon Airport, take the Red Line (Linha Vermelha) to "Saldanha" station. Then, transfer to the Yellow Line (Linha Amarela) and exit at "Rato" station. The FLAD is just a short taxi/uber drive away. Alternatively, you can walk 1.7 km, about 25 minutes to the foundation.

 

How to get to Laboratório Marítimo da Guia - Workshop venue
By Car
To reach Laboratório Marítimo da Guia by car, take the A5 highway if coming from Lisbon, and follow directions to Guia/Guincho. Once you arrive next to the sea, follow the main road until you see a yellow fortress. There are parking spaces available in the vicinity, though availability may vary.

By Train
If you’re arriving by train, disembark at "Cascais" station. From there, you can take a short taxi/uber ride to the Laboratório Marítimo da Guia or take the bus nº 27,  4, 5, or 34. Alternatively, you can walk 3.5 km, about 45 minutes to Laboratório Marítimo da Guia.

 

Where to sleep

Lisbon has a variety of accommodations to offer. The conference has a partnership with Hotel Roma (single room with breakfast  - 80€; double room with breakfast - 85€). To secure a room, just contact the accomodation (comercial@hotelroma.pt) and mention that you will be attending conference to get a room with the discounted price.

For closer accomodations, Jardim da Lapa by Shiadu is located right next to the venue and offers rooms starting at 115€ per night.

For budget closer accomodations, Selina Secret Garden Lisbon has rooms starting at 44€ a night.
